ADVANTAGES OF SPICKET ROD SYSTEMS
- Clamping mechanism much higher pull (approx. 4 times) between the three sections of the rod system than competitive products
- Clamping mechanism self-adjusting - tensile force in rod system is nearly constant throughout life. Tensile force in competitive rod reduces constantly due to permanent deformation of metal springs with time. When springs are significantly flattened, connecting pins in competitive rod tend to fall out.
- Specially designed very robust knuckle/socket joint arrangement in high tensile stainless steel to tolerate substantial tensile loading. If substantial tensile loading occurs in competitive rods even temporarily, cross holes in thin cylindrical joining
links become badly stretched - pins can fall out. - In unlikely event of Spicket hydraulic system failure, rod easily dismantled by ratchet socket wrench or ring key. Takes slightly longer than hydraulics and a little more effort - competitive system usually needs powerful angle grinder!
- Spicket rod joining link quickly & easily fieldserviceable - all components available as spare parts. Equivalent unit in competitive system very seldom field serviceable - replacement unit usually required.
- Water / rod sealing in Spicket joining link is by pumped grease - much more reliable & durable than competitive systems.
